Anne Scoular

Anne is the author of The Financial Times Guide to Business Coaching, and has almost 20 years as encourager-in-chief to business coaches seeking to build their practices and firms. She takes real pleasure in helping individual coaches and organisations articulate what it is that sets them apart; encouraging them to undertake research, to publish everything from learned articles to fun PR pieces that still offer real value to readers and build the coach’s brand; or develop innovative events; or just build their confidence on the solid, unshakeable ground of knowing the value they genuinely deliver. An incorrigible networker, she forgets how many introductions she has made over the years – but it makes her day when someone even years later reports continuing positive results. And in her day job, she is Managing Director and a Faculty Member at Meyler Campbell.

Stephen Newton

Stephen has worked as a coach and consultant since 2001. He enables clients to implement their firm’s strategy (or adjust it so that it can be implemented) and thus enhance bottom line results. Key focus areas include leadership development, operational management, and communication, which together lead to the creation of ‘consultative partnerships’. As a result his clients can move away from the transactional (‘winning deals’) approach to a position where price is minimised as an issue, their perceived value is enhanced, and their share of available business is maximised.

Stephen began his career as a regular Army officer. During his service, he graduated from Oxford University where he received an Army scholarship. There followed over twenty years in the fund management industry, including as Sales Director for Mercury Fund Managers (the mutual funds business of Mercury Asset Management (‘MAM’), Operations Director for MAM, and subsequently Operations Director for Schroder Investment Management. His consulting life gained momentum as Head of Relationship Management for AXA IM in London, which acted as a testing ground for a number of the ideas that now form the basis of Stephen’s work. Jon Reed

Jon is the author of the Financial Times’ Get Up to Speed with Online Marketing, and is a social media consultant, lecturer, speaker and trainer. He previously worked in publishing for ten years, including the role of publishing director for McGraw Hill, before jumping the fence to become an author. He runs the social media consultancy Reed Media, provides web design, branding and marketing services to small businesses through Small Business Studio, and runs a blog and online community for authors and publishers, Publishing Talk.

Jon regularly runs social media workshops, lectures on several university courses and speaks at conferences. Follow him on Twitter@jonreed or connect with him on Facebook or LinkedIn. And of course his book has its own website at www.getuptospeed.biz.
