We are pleased – indeed, excited – to announce below the 2010 Coaching Fishbowls! Also in a new twist for 2010, each Fishbowl will be chaired by a member of the Business Coach community who has highly relevant experience/expertise. For example, the terrific Peninah Thomson Fishbowl on coaching women for FTSE Boards, will be chaired by Simon Brown of Microsoft, who when he was MD of Microsoft Sweden, worked with a 40% female board and has since become a passionate advocate of this.
MC Alumni should make their booking via the Alumni section of this website.

Psychometric Fishbowl – new EUROPEAN strengths tool with Dr Robert Biswas-Diener
Experienced users of psychometrics in coaching know how even subtle nuances of difference between US and European language and behaviours can throw feedback and coaching right off-track. But now the first powerful European Strengths tool, CAPP's Realise2, is here at last, and very good it is too. Its unexpected added features include new strengths identified in the European research (e.g. 'Bounceback' – is it just that we've needed it so often?) Plus it disentangles 'unrealised strengths' and 'learned behaviours' from core strengths – handy! And the coach is the Man himself, Dr Robert Biswas-Diener, who co-developed Realise2 with CAPP. He's a leading figure in Positive Psychology, coaches across 4 continents, is the author of 'Positive Psychology Coaching', and also founded a major charitable movement in the field. So it's a double: leading global coach, and useful new tool.

Women on the Board: Coaching Fishbowl with Peninah Thomson
Peninah Thomson might not have changed the power of women in the Boardroom single-handedly, but she's given it a damn good shove in the right direction. She co-founded Women Directors on Boards, a Government/academic/business consortium to address the lack of women Directors in FTSE companies; published the thoroughly-researched book A Woman's Place is in the Boardroom (2005) and three years later its follow-up A Woman's Place is in the Boardroom: The Roadmap. In 2004 she set up and now directs the FTSE 100 Cross-Company Mentoring Programme, which is sponsored by Praesta. She has persuaded FTSE 100 Chairmen and CEOs to mentor able senior women from both the public and private sectors, to prepare them for top Boards. The FTSE Chairmen don't delegate it, they do it in person, themselves – to date, an astonishing 40 of them. A co-founder of leading international coaching business Praesta, and one of the world's leading coaches of Board members, Peninah has generously agreed to coach a member of the Meyler Campbell community on equipping senior women for the top of the FTSE.

'Dark Side' Coaching Fishbowl with Dr Gillian Hyde
Here we go, off into uncharted territory: Gillian Hyde, consultant psychologist and Director of PCL, has agreed to do a Fishbowl demonstrating use of the Hogan Dark Side (HDS) in executive coaching! Shivers run up your spine – no, don't worry, over the years many in the magnificent Meyler Campbell community have been incredibly generous in volunteering for Fishbowls for the sake of your fellows' learning, but we're not going to ask you to sit there and expose your Dark Side/business derailers! In a Fishbowl first, we've hired an experienced business actor – BUT with the critical proviso that, though he will be being paid to bare his soul, as actors do, he will not be acting – it will be his genuine feedback and issues, and authentic for the running of his own business. (Breathing again now?!)

Nancy Kline: Thinking Environment
This would of course sell out in a split second without anyone knowing the slightest detail of the session, just because it's Nancy Kline! But it is indeed as exciting and precious as you might hope – Nancy has very generously agreed to do a live Thinking Environment session for our community, with Q&A/teaching/discussion/reflective space to follow. We – oops, oh dear – was that our website crashing under the thundering horde scrambling to book?!
