This bulletin contains a round up of useful resources and learning opportunities.

Meyler Campbell Guide to Compassion
As part 2 of our Meyler Campbell guide to Emotions and Emotional Intelligence we have elected to go with a guide topic that is both topical and much needed, compassion.

Business as usual at Meyler Campbell – Can you help?

You will have seen that all of our CPD events have now successfully transferred online but you may not be aware that so have all of our Mastered syndicates and Unleashed Programmes. This has created opportunities for people to join the programmes who previously may not have been able to physically attend due to their geographic location, or time available.

We are now actively recruiting for Mastered syndicates in formation and will be holding an information event online on Tuesday 2nd June from 15.00 – 16.30.

We welcome all those who are interested to know more about Meyler Campbell and Mastered and as you know we are particularly interested in broadening diversity within the coaching community. If you know anyone who would be interested in finding out more please tell them about the event or introduce them to us so that we can make sure they’re invited – we very much look forward to meeting them.

If you know of anyone who is interested they can get in touch at info@meylercampbell.com

Keeping the Meyler Campbell Community CONNECTED
During these times of lockdown many of us are missing the opportunity to get together as a community, to network with other coaches and to catch up with Meyler Campbell friends. The Meyler Campbell virtual CPD programme continues to meet with your widespread approval for learning opportunities but as yet it has provided little opportunity for networking. We are planning a number of networking specific events to address this challenge but in the meantime we wanted to remind you that you can use CONNECTED, the Meyler Campbell members platform, to:

  • reach out to others; form virtual groups;
  • catch up on your reading, viewing and listening;

and, hold online discussions on areas of mutual interest – it’s all there for you, the only thing it’s missing is you!

Coaching the NHS
The Meyler Campbell Coaching the NHS Scheme will launch on Monday 18th May. Over 200 Meyler Campbell coaches have volunteered to coach more than 400 NHS Leaders and Managers. That is the Meyler Campbell spirit that makes us all proud to be part of this community. Thank you all!

Accreditation Fast-Track
This week Professor Mary Watts and Liz Gooster hosted a webinar on the Fast-Track to Accreditation process which is being piloted with the Association of Coaching.  If any Meyler Campbell Mastered (formerly Business Coach Programme) alumni missed the live webinar, you can access the full recording and FAQs here

Call for Practice Coachees

Do you know someone who would benefit from some free coaching? Some of our current Mastered participants are looking for additional clients. If you know of anyone who would be interested please ask them to send an email with the subject heading Practice Coaching to info@meylercampbell.com.  The email should contain their name and contact details, brief information about their role and the  reason why they would like coaching, we will then place them on the practice coaching register.

The Simplicity Principle – Six steps towards Simplicity in a Complex World

The current period of lockdown has enabled many businesses, leaders and individuals to experience the value of a simpler, less frenetic working life resulting in better balance and clearer thinking. The experience raises questions for whether we will ever want to return to business as usual and if not  how we can retain that simplicity once ‘real life’ returns. In this essay adapted from her newly published book Julia Hobsbawm asserts that How to simplify the complex will be a constant challenge unless we consciously change the way we think and act. As Steve Jobs said, “Simple can be harder than complex: You have to work hard to get your thinking clean to make it simple. But it’s worth it in the end because once you get there, you can move mountains.”
