Graduation 2016 was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the achievements of our graduating class and to witness the sense of support within the Meyler Campbell community.
On Thursday 29th of September Meyler Campbell held its annual Graduation ceremony for the Mastered programme. The event was held at the magnificent Merchant Taylor’s hall, and the champagne flowed in honour of the occasion. The event marked the welcome return of Anne Scoular from her sabbatical, and was the first Graduation with Catherine Devitt at the helm as CEO.
This year there were 37 coaches graduating from the Mastered programme. There was a huge turnout from the community to support this year’s graduates, incuding members of the Meyler Campbell faculty. We were delighted to welcome Monica Burch as our guest speaker. Monica delivered an address about what it takes to be a great leader and the essential role of coaches for individuals, businesses and organisations. In her address Monica referred to a number of song titles relevant to the progress that graduates had made through the Mastered programme. She concluded with t words from rapper Kanye West saying “He’ll give us what we need, it may not be what we want”, and asked the community to continue to give people what they need.
Meyler Campbell were thrilled to be able to use this opportunity to announce the John Stopford Scholarship to our community. John Stopford was one of our most esteemed community members, and we were privileged to be joined by Sally Stopford who gave a moving tribute to her late husband. Beginning in Autumn 2016 we will be offering one free place on the Mastered programme to someone working in the charity sector to honour John’s memory and continue to give back in the way that Meyler Campbell and its community have always done. Read more about the scholarship here.
