Lifetime Achievement Award

The Lifetime Achievement Award recognises an individual whose exceptional contribution has an enduring impact on the strength, reputation and spirit of our community.

Through sustained commitment and influence, they have helped shape the Meyler Campbell experience for others and leave a lasting legacy. It is intended as the highest form of recognition we can confer.

Ann Orton, Lifetime Achievement Award

Ann Orton, Lifetime Achievement Award

For over twenty years, Ann Orton has been a hugely valued member of the Meyler Campbell Faculty and the community. She graduated from the Mastered programme in 2005, and tutored her first syndicate in 2007.

During her time as a tutor, Ann has helped to shape the Mastered programme in its delivery for participants, encouraging them to test their current coaching approaches, explore beyond their comfort zones, and discover their ‘best selves’.

Ann taught multiple syndicates over the years who have benefited from her wisdom and expertise as a tutor, many of whom are recurring individuals at community gatherings. In fact Catherine Devitt and Sarah Martin, who serve on Faculty, were part of Ann’s very first syndicate.

Ann’s contributions go well beyond the Mastered programme. Since 2019, Meyler Campbell has worked in partnership with Cancer Research UK to help develop future research leaders through coaching. Ann was instrumental in establishing this partnership and driving the success of it forward; you can read her reflections on the enthusiasm and reach of the programme for both coaches and coachees, and its ripple effect on research teams and the broader scientific community here.

Since it was first established, more than 70 Meyler Campbell trained coaches have supported over 100 scientists as they progress through the CRUK Future Leaders Programme. This represents over 600 hours of coaching, and more than £1 million in pro bono support, and we are so grateful to Ann for vital role in making this happen.

Congratulations, Ann, and thank you again for everything you have done for Meyler Campbell.
