Connect & Learn: We invite speakers to share practical techniques, tips and fresh perspectives based on their own knowledge and experience. The events provide new insights for coaches and aim to equip you to do or think something differently as a result of the event.
In 2025, Gillian Hyde, Meyler Campbell alumnus and Director at Psychological Consultancy Ltd (PCL), worked with the team at Hogan Assessments to conduct a groundbreaking study on effective leadership. We shared this survey with the Meyler Campbell community, and by taking part in the study, you all helped to design what effective leadership looks like including characteristics for success (as well as potential inhibitors), important values and how criteria may vary around the globe. We now know that Meyler Campbell coaches contributed substantially to the UK findings of this research with some very interesting results.
In this session, Gillian Hyde and Meyler Campbell Chief Science Officer Simmy Grover will distil these findings, highlighting the qualities that Meyler Campbell coaches deemed critical in leaders, contrasting with the total UK sample findings (and Global sample findings).

A 2023 Mastered graduate, Gillian Hyde is Director and Chief Psychologist at PCL, a boutique business psychology practice. She brings over 30 years’ experience in the field, from designing assessments of personality and ability through to in-depth interpretations and debriefs that increase self-awareness and guide the future development of leaders.
Simmy Grover is the Chief Science Officer at Meyler Campbell alongside her role as a Faculty Member. She is an academic and practitioner in the field of coaching and organisational psychology.
