Dear friends,

As we close our 25th anniversary year, I want to extend a very big thanks to our Community, our Faculty, and our Team for your generosity, support, and professionalism. Together, we have strengthened what makes Meyler Campbell so special and reinforced our privileged role as coaches – helping leaders reach their full potential and positively impact the communities they serve.

Celebrating Our Milestones

This year has given us much to celebrate. Our professional development events were well attended, and I am grateful to everyone who contributed to their success. These activities, along with many others, continue to reinforce our commitment to shaping leadership excellence. We look forward to your continued participation in our upcoming events.

A particular highlight was our Mastered Graduation, where Eleanor McBrien – a former graduate now with The Alliance – delivered a wonderful address to our graduating class. We are already well underway with our new Class of 2026 and look forward to welcoming more participants as the year progresses.

Our recent Anniversary Lecture featured Langley Sharp MBE, a Mastered graduate and former Head of the Centre for Army Leadership. His insights offered us a fresh perspective on leadership, reminding us that while contexts may differ, the fundamental principles endure and shape both commercial success and, in the military, survival.

Earlier in the year, our wonderful Faculty, led by Catherine Devitt, curated 25 Powerful Coaching Questions, which many of you have found impactful. These questions, along with the continued success of our Trusted programme, contribute to our growth as coaches. And with the shorter December days, it’s worth remembering our special Summer Drinks – a wonderful evening of celebration and community.

Community and Giving Back

“’Tis the season of goodwill.” Giving generously is a core value at Meyler Campbell, and I want to recognise our charitable partnerships. This year, we celebrated five years of partnership with Cancer Research UK (CRUK). Since 2020, over 60 Meyler Campbell coaches have provided pro bono coaching to more than 80 scientists through CRUK’s Future Leaders Programme. Special thanks to Faculty Member Ann Orton for launching this initiative, and the team at CRUK for their ongoing support.

2025 also marked the 40th commemoration of the Cherry Groce incident. Members of our Faculty offered their time to support the Cherry Groce Foundation, established by previous John Stopford Scholarship winner Lee Lawrence. Thank you to everyone who donated and participated in giving back.

Each year, through the John Stopford Scholarship, we offer places on the Mastered programme to leaders from the charity and not-for-profit sectors. Our aim is to develop outstanding coaches and build capability in these sectors. We continue to support our 2025 scholarship winners, Louise Parkes and Laura Lewis-Williams, as they progress through their Mastered journey. Louise is the CEO of Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity, and Laura is the Managing Director of Challenge Partners. We are accepting applications for 2026, please do get in touch with the Meyler Campbell team for more information.

Looking Ahead

As we look to 2026, I am excited about our continued focus on further building our excellence in coaching. We will be enhancing our Mastered Programme, building our Trusted capabilities – including in support of Spencer Stuart – expanding our thought leadership, and finding new ways to foster even greater community engagement. There will be many ‘hands on deck’ to make this happen, Dr Simmy Grover as our Chief Science Officer playing a key role on Mastered and thought leadership.

With the holidays upon us, I wish everyone the very best for the festive season. May the year ahead bring you success, happiness, and fulfilment.

P.S. We hope to see you at the Winter Drinks on Thursday 29th January 2026.
