We’re sharing an urgent appeal from an organisation we have long supported, Nova New Opportunities, an established community charity in North Kensington with a big reach and novel approach to social change. Nova is led by Director Lizzie Cho, known to many of our community as a Meyler Campbell Alumna and the first recipient of our John Stopford Scholarship.
For more than 40 years, Nova has supported local people and families through education, advice, youth and family work, practical crisis support and wider social change. Their work helps people move from crisis to stability, from isolation to connection, and from being locked out of opportunities to shaping them.
Nova is now facing an urgent funding crisis. Long-term funding has reduced or paused, statutory funding has fallen, and demand for support continues to grow. The organisation has already made difficult cost savings, including staffing reductions, but still needs immediate support to keep services running while longer-term funding is secured.
Nova need to raise £35,000 in May and £50,000 in June, and are asking people to support in any way they can:
Donate through Aviva Match Funding — donations of any size will be matched up to £250 by Aviva, meaning Nova could receive up to £500, plus Gift Aid where eligible.
Donate through JustGiving — one-off gifts of any size will help.
Join Club 100 — a £50 per month giving lottery that helps Nova build more reliable income for the future.
We know how generous this community is and so we urge you to please support Nova’s important work; if you believe places like Nova need to exist, please support and share the appeal.
You can also watch this short film, created from the words of people using Nova’s services in February 2026 and voiced by actors, which brings to life — with dignity and care — what Nova means to the people who rely on them.
