Our much-loved and respected colleague Juan Coto died young in 2016, having already blazed a trail for leadership and coaching work of the highest calibre. We believe Richard is a worthy recipient of the Award set up to honour Juan’s memory in the practical way he would have wished, i.e. pushing forward the standards of thought leadership in our field.

Richard says: The research area has developed into a “must do” for me during the pandemic. The award means a great deal to me as it confirms that my peers also believe that public conversations and political leadership could prove a fertile area for breaking new ground in coaching. Although I sadly never met Juan Coto, attempting to follow in his footsteps gives me the spur to pursue my research with ever greater conviction.

The Juan Coto Award is a bursary to be awarded for a piece of research which will advance our knowledge and understanding of leadership coaching. For more information about this aware, click here.
